This narrative project started out as a story about the women at Hillsborough’s Capital Ford Service Department. Told through the lens of Tanya, the dealership’s Service Coordinator, this story investigated how women navigate traditionally male-dominated spaces. After spring break, when we were not allowed to return to campus, the project was put on pause for the time being. As I returned home to my family in Charlotte, I continued to work on narrative photojournalism but had to get crafty and find a new subject. This time, the focus was on my own family and how we were coping with the COVID-19 pandemic.
